In 2022, SSA has had a particularly strong showing for award wins and shortlisted projects.
We feel honoured that our work has been appreciated on a global stage, and we are thankful for the kind words given by our contemporaries on the judging panels.
We were particularly delighted that Christina Seilern has won Architect of the Year in the Female Frontier Awards 2022 by World Architecture News | World Interiors News. The awards recognise remarkable, talented and visionary women of all ages, at every level across Architecture, championing best practice, supporting new and established talent and celebrating the firms who are supporting women in their roles.
The judges said that the entries were of the highest calibre they have ever seen in these awards, saying that this year’s work provided “Beautiful, creative solutions, that are innovating the world of architecture” and “seeing these amazing projects at such different scales of architecture is testament to how great the industry really is”.
Civic Trust Awards, Regional Finalist
Andermatt Concert Hall in Switzerland has been selected as a regional finalist for the prestigious 2023 Civic Trust Awards. This is the first time that Studio Seilern Architects has been recognised by the Civic Trust, which organises the longest standing architectural awards scheme in Europe set up to recognise outstanding architecture, urban design, landscape and public areas which improve the quality of life for local communities. Award winners will be announced this month.
International Architecture Award
The International Architecture Awards, organised by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum, remain the world’s oldest and most comprehensive international public program that promotes the best new architectural design worldwide. We are delighted that Andermatt Concert Hall has received this award.
Architizer A+ Awards, Winner
The Andermatt Concert Hall has been named the jury winner in the Cultural Hall/Theatre category. This is a real honour for SSA, with the category receiving entries from over 80 countries. The Architizer A+ Jury Winner is selected by an illustrious jury, comprising architects and designers, media luminaries, tech and business leaders, and other creatives.

Gouna Plaza, the first phase of the Gouna Conference and Culture Centre in Egypt made the prestigious shortlist in the Cultural and Expo Centre of the Year category.

This year Dezeen decided that Studio Seilern’s work and progress was worthy of being listed among the best 24 architecture studios in the world, a wonderful honour. The diverse mix included both fresh, and long-term successful practices. We are in great company.

Gouna Plaza was nominated in the Landscape Category: “The aesthetic impact of this outdoor design is the creation of an oasis-like space, protected from the sun and incorporating the cooling effects of water flow and wind protection systems”

The Paros Residence was nominated in the Coastal or Rural Villa category at this year’s World Architecture Festival in Berlin.
