Stone platters

Material: Naxos marble

Naxos marble was selected for its striking contrast of its white section and jet black spots to create shallow bowls that can be used as decorative and serving platters.

In keeping with the use of local materials during the construction of the Paros House, much of the furniture was designed using a local marble from the nearby island of Naxos, selected for its striking contrast of its white section and jet black spots. Committing to the total use of a material that is typically sold as 3-meter slabs, offcuts were used to create shallow bowls to be used around the house as decorative and serving platters which, with their unique swirls and spots, became stand alone object in their own right.
